“Branding is about everything.” - Tom Peters That's right. I said it. The "B" word. BRANDING.
If you are avoiding this "b" word, there is no doubt that your business is paying the price. In today's competitive marketplace, branding is more important than ever. If you want to survive, you must develop a strategy to achieve growth for your brand. The anatomy of a great brand is made up of more than just pretty colors and a fancy logo. As I have mentioned in the past, brand identity is a combination of innovation, creativity, flexibility, research, quality, messaging, management and presentation. Understanding all the components of branding is essential to brand development. These components will allow you to use creativity to stay innovative and fresh! By researching your target audience, you will be able to create a look and feel that speaks directly to the right people. Developing a plan that enables your brand to remain flexible is also very important and will equip you to manage your messaging in a way that remains relevant over an extended period of time. Although creating a lasting brand can be a (insert the other "b" word that you were expecting earlier) difficult task, it is well worth the effort in the end!
